Well, with bonfire night having been and gone and the weather taking a bitterly cold direction, and of course with the greatly anticipated John Lewis advert airing on our TV screens this week, our thoughts have well and truly turned to Christmas.
For me Christmas is not so much a gifting occasion, but a precious time to be spent with family. Being an auntie to my young nephew, Christmas has taken an altogether more magical turn in the past few years and I absolutely love it. The run up to Christmas is just as fun as the day itself - we recently started a new tradition of a Christmas crafting weekend early in December. Fuelled by mince pies and hot chocolate and up to our elf ears in craft supplies we make all manor of creative festive ornaments over a gossip and a giggle.
Last year we decided to have a go at sewing ourselves some festive decorations.
I'm no sewer (don't look too closely at my stitching!) but I am very proud of my creations and I am pleased to say they look fantastic hanging on our Christmas tree. I'm looking forward to seeing what we'll be creating this year...!
Family keepsakes, whether purchased or handmade, have always been precious to me, especially keepsakes marking important milestones.
Christmas is the perfect time to look back fondly at these special moments and with that in mind, I've been busy in my studio over the past couple of months, designing some pretty Christmas decorations celebrating such milestones.
They make wonderful gifts for families, new parents, grandparents, newlyweds... made from high quality ceramic they both look and feel beautiful. They can be gift wrapped in a pretty box ready for gifting.
They are now available on my website and in my Etsy and NotOnTheHighStreet stores (and if you've subscribed to my email newsletter, keep an eye on your inbox as you'll be receiving an exclusive special offer this week).
Do you have any fun crafty Christmas traditions in your family and with your little ones? I'd love to hear :)
